  • Art Club: required meeting

New Business

  • Reserves and Fundraising

  • If clubs request money from SBAC, your fundraised money is taken at the end of the year. If you do not request money from SBAC, you get to keep your fundraised money.

  • No longer going to have separate accounts for clubs.

  • Finance Committee is going to fight the taking away of fundraised money from clubs that requested money.

Senate Reports ​School of Education

  • ​​ Teachers are out in the field for pre-student teaching experience.

School of Fine Arts

  • ​​ Meeting with Dean next Monday

College of Arts and Sciences

  • ​​ ​Met with Dean last week; learned about plans for tenured faculty (review at year 3), budget revisions, doing more work behind the scenes where it won’t directly affect the students

  • Work toward changing or getting an ecology degree compared to environmental degree; no management classes included for wildlife management major, going to work on changing that problem

  • Dean wants us to push for course evaluation

  • Darcy will be meeting with Dr. Ramsey about how some exams have to take it outside of class

School of Business

  • ​​ 4th-6th business professors will be gone-CEIB conference is happening in Rapid

  • Representatives from China will be coming from sister school and going to Lunar Moon Festival

  • Business club is looking for more members; trying to become more like FBLA nationals is in Texas

​At Large

  • ​​ Talked to Dr. Lien, wants to integrate the colleges with classes

​Residence Halls

  • Nothing to report

Graduate School

  • Nothing to report

Freshman

  • They seem very focused this year; praise from the professors

  • ​​ Clarification of committees

  • Going to Pierre on Friday for meeting

​Vice President

  • BOR rooms booked; look at itineraries (leaving at 1); bring food money but you will be reimbursed

  • No meeting next week

  • Brooke, Annika, and Shanae met with director of marketing including texting idea

  • Met with Veronica with detailed itemized GAF budget and gave GAF funding protocol

  • Meeting with President Downs about increasing the GAF

Committee Reports

Facilities

  • Nothing to report

Governance

  • Met with Dr. Waid-Lindberg and Checka about things that will be handled in the next few weeks; want from each committee a mission statement to abide by

  • Parliamentarian-looking into changing that and the Pro-temp

  • Want to formalize Checka to have a position with us or a student advisor

  • Monthly Dean meetings-want more meaningful meetings for schools to have-examples are the department chairs, committees within the department

  • Meet with SORC after meeting

Public Relations

  • Gypsy Days float is camping (lumberjack look); candy is tooti fruities; Alexis is driving

  • Going through Social Media and posters that has information and handles/banners for student association office

  • Report would shut down wrong Instagram account

  • Senator of the week will start next week

  • Clyde will be our key to printing

  • Don’t have location for Promenade

  • Finance

  • Created example budget request based off of Spanish Clubs/new rubric

  • All paperwork updated

  • Meet next week for governance related stuff

Advisor Notes

  • BOR meeting – send names that will be gone so it’s an excused absense/contact for Friday

  • Get Justice Haggin for BOR

  • Two weeks minimum notice to get something done

  • Administrators to Facebook were added

Old Business

Senator Announcements

  • Gypsy week

  • Friday morning at KSFY band will be featured at 5:30 am

  • Friday night volleyball at 6 and paint dance to follow

  • Steps 2 Shep on Saturday morning

  • Football game on Saturday at 1 and Volleyball game at 6

  • Coronation on Thursday at 7-Vote

  • Cross cultural forum-partner with Project Ponyo; 7-8:30 on Tuesdays; email Shanae if you have any topic ideas; PR will market
